Hi!

I am a hedgehog! I am more like Sonic than you probably realize. I have quills on my back and use them for protection. My quills are not very prickly until I become alarmed. When I become alarmed, I make a “whoosh” sound and fill my quills with air. This makes my quills hard. My quill is like a straight pin. My quills differ from a porcupine, which many people confuse me with. A porcupine’s quill has a barb on the end like a fish hook. Quills are not my only protection. I am also able to ball myself up protecting my head and nice soft under belly. With my sharp quills surrounding me, I am well protected.
